Our greenland dogs


Below I introduce the greenland dogs of our little pack :-)

SAYUK Legenda Północy

The female that we have chosen the name by ourselves for – so her pet name is the same :-) She was our long-awaited, first and booked greenland dog. I held her in my arms when she was 4 days. Princess with an arch look who managed to hold off all the dogs from the pack in first days because she considered them as strangers. She grew up as quite amicable female, behaving well with the rest of females in the pack. The best proof of it is that the whole pack is running freely together in dog yard when we’re at home. Despite her independent nature Sayuk loves to be in the company of people. She’ll use every opportunity to reach our face leaning on our forearms and to express her affection in a very special way – to adjoin the muzzle to our lips gain and again ....true kisses ! Sportingly – the prime mover of the team. It is her that raises others in the team to renewed gallop when she decides it’s enough of this slower running for a purpose of a rest. Before start she undergoes a true drama because she can’t run yet and she expresses it aloud and vigorously. On the run working hard, making intensive effort to pull, from the beginning to the end... this is our Sayuk.

SHANTU Legenda Północy

Shantu... the sudden decision to take second greenland dog together with Sayuk was the hit of the bull’s eye. We gave him the name by ourselves too. In the beginning we were joking that it is a wimp that is growing up here – so unskillful, being long under the sister’s domination. But slowly it was becoming more and more clear that he developed into a dog with so big self-confidence and self worth that he doesn’t even feel a need to prove it violently to the dogs in the pack. Optimistically disposed to the world, showing no fear in almost any situation, surprisingly forbearing (yet gruff) towards males in the pack, not coming afoul of Manu (our oldie), loving people a lot and loving us above every conception – he only shows the dark side of his soul in touch with strange dogs. We know that he’s rascal in this regard (which is yet quite typical for greenland dogs) from his childhood and we are working with him, also during the trainings, in such a way that he doesn’t develop his bad manners rather we stop them, to crush in the bud. We make great play with the teaching him ignoring other teams on trail. Good thing is that Shantu is uncommonly human-oriented dog. To focus his attention on us is s kid’s staff. When you look then at his eyes full of dog love, a thought crosses your mind “Is this really the same rascal ?...” ;-) And sportingly ? He acts like a machine made for running – and you don’t need to add anything more... :-)))

Qornoq's Arctic Qimas BLACKCAT

Importing a dog with new blood – it appeared to us to be sth beyond our possibilities. But one day a single photo in Internet designed the turning point and no one knows how after few months it made the photographed object turn up at our place... Norwegian girl (she was 17 months then) was astonishing us on every step. On one hand delicate (any little thing can be a reason to scream that it hurts, she’s leaning on our chest so gently that we almost don’t feel her weight) , on the other hand in defense of her few spilled food balls she is able to give a dog such a sudden strike that you can’t compass the speed of the movement. On one hand well-mannered by previous owner, on the other hand you can see a lot of strong primeval instincts. On one hand she has very subdued behavior, full of self-restraint (she was entering the new pack in a way I would never imagine how to do it better) and on the other hand she can fall in such a hilarity that the rest of the pack become stupified… ;-) Full of contradictions Blackie is amazing us all the time. Her sporting life was started only just she came to us. She had no time to build a brawn (which we plan to make up in next season) but this longlegged girl is very fast :-) She proved it measuring up to our torpedos Sayuk and Shantu when running with them in cat. C2 and when in Kubalonka she was winning the Chapionships of Poland in this category.

Twinkling Nova's AMAROQ

Viggo is our second imported dog – also from Norway. He was bought with “door delivery” so to say, brought to us by our friend breeder Katinka Mossin :-) Viggo is very cheerful, kindly and merry dog. As rather still young pup he was easily accepted by the pack, but one must admit he knows how to make a favourable impression, particularly in Shantu’s eyes. His mother is light built female from Sweden kennel Racystar with really nice movement. And father is Greenlandic greenland dog ;-) His parents are from kennel of famous Ville Siegstad from Illulisat (West coast of Greenland). There he was conceived and he was born on quarantine in Denmark. Gimli is well experienced leader, he finished three Femundraces F400 and many more, he brought the team to finishing line in every race he took part. We hope that the dog of such parents will bring us gladness.

SLEIPNIR Nordic Storm

Jest pierwszym szczenięciem z naszej hodowli, który pojawił się na świecie. I naszą dumą. Od najwcześniejszych tygodni a później miesięcy zadziwiał nas spokojną pewnością siebie i niewzruszoną odwagą. A potem przyszedł czas pierwszych treningów i ...oniemieliśmy. Jego nie było czego uczyć. Co tam wiedza, jak pracować w zaprzęgu, nie plątać się w linach, nie rozpraszać... on ją po prostu miał w sobie. Kierunków nauczył się błyskawicznie, ale to również nic... Okazał się literalnie urodzonym liderem. Sama bym nigdy w to nie uwierzyła, gdyby mi ktoś opowiadał. Najlepsze jest to, że pomimo mocnej budowy i dość niskiego wzrostu w kwestii szybkości niczym nie ustępuje Shantu czy Viggo. Bo o chęci do pracy wspominać już nie muszę...? ;-) No z tego to akurat nasze psy są znane.

SAGA Nordic Storm

Początkowo wyróżniała się po prostu ładną choć masywną budową, ciekawym umaszczeniem i nieprzeciętną pracowitością. Cały pierwszy sezon biegała w drugiej parze niczym pośpieszny pociąg - bardzo szybka, owszem, ale przede wszystkim powalająca na kolana siłą i wytrzymałością. Od początku praca bez wyrabiania 200% to nie była dla niej praca... Ale w pierwszej parze traciła pewność siebie, oglądała się do tyłu, czuła się lekko zagubiona. Dopiero w drugim sezonie nadrobiła straty w tej kwestii, nabrała ogólnej pewności siebie i z tą chwilą praca jako liderka stała się dla niej normą, oczywiście według jej standardów :-)
